A Sad Birthday

Andy's treasure Box - part 3

Andy kept thinking… “How could I stay quite when I saw Peter grabbed the box ripped the wrap and started to bang the present on the floor! I could clearly see it’s a tiny remote-control dinosaur! What else I could do but snatching the box from him! Who knew that he would start crying so loud! Well, probably I should have remembered, that’s how babies are.”
1
They both sat on the mat... Mrs Candle gave him a piece of red colour paper and told him to write a very special memory of him with his mum. Andy found it very difficult to choose one memory because he had lots of beautiful memories with his mum. He asked Mrs. Candle how to choose just one memory out of so many memories he has! All of those memories are very special. Mrs. Candle said, “No problem at all, I will give you as many pieces of paper as you need to write all the special memories you have with your mum”. Soon he had a bunch of red little paper piled next to him holding all the beautiful memories he had with his mum.
2
Mrs. Candle had an amazing idea. She asked Andy to get a card board box. Andy had few boxes around the house from his birthday presents. He thought he could quietly go into the house and grab one. As he thought so he did. He tiptoed to the house, the house is still very quiet which tells him that mum and dad are still asleep. By the time Andy came back with the box, Miss candle got a mat, her craft box which had some beautiful color paper and pencils.
3
Andy was enjoying so much that he forgot how sad he was earlier. “Mrs. Candle, can we please do it every day?” asked Andy. “Sure we can”, replied Mrs. Candle. How about every night before you go to sleep you write your happy memories and put it in this box? And you can have the happy memories of everyday saved in your treasure chest. If you feel sad ever again, take your treasure box, keep reading them and you will start feeling so happy before you know it. “Yes!”, Andy almost shouted with excitement.
4
As days turned into weeks, Andy began to realize the magic of the treasure box. It wasn't just about the items inside; it was about the stories behind them. Each object was a gateway to a memory, an adventure, or a cherished moment. He started adding more treasures: a feather found on a hike, a ticket stub from his first movie, and a drawing from his best friend. The box became a source of joy, a place where Andy could relive his happiest memories.
5
Andy was loving this .. Very soon he had a big pile of paper next to him Orange papers which had his special memories with friends. Purple papers which had the special memories with his teachers at school. Green papers which had all the nice experience he had like camping, trip to the holidays, all the birthday parties of his friends and his own. Blue papers which had all the nice things he did for his mum, dad, cousins and friends, which make him feel really proud.
6
The next day, equipped with a map and a sense of adventure, Andy and Leo ventured into the woods. They explored hidden paths and marveled at the beauty of nature. After hours of searching, they found a small, sparkling rock by a stream. They knew immediately it was the perfect addition to the treasure box. Their adventure had not only brought them a new treasure but also strengthened their friendship. They returned home, tired but exhilarated by their successful treasure hunt.
7
That night, as Andy placed the sparkling rock into his treasure box, he realized something important. The box was more than a container for objects; it was a reminder of the adventures he had and the friends he made. He learned that treasures weren't always about shiny or rare things but about the memories and people associated with them. This lesson made him appreciate his treasure box even more, knowing it was filled with real treasures of life.
8
He sat on his tree house very quietly for a while. He cannot stop thinking how bad he felt last night when mum called him mean in front of all his friends. Andy was thinking .... “Mum knows how precious the birthday gifts are to me and I always want to unwrap them all by myself after everyone has gone home. Presents! that’s the only reason of having birthdays! oh yeah, the yummy dinosaur cake ...that’s another reason.”
9
As time passed, Andy's treasure box continued to grow. Each object told a story of adventure, friendship, and love. Andy often opened the box to reminisce about the past and dream about future adventures. He also started writing little notes about each treasure, ensuring the stories behind them would never be forgotten. The treasure box became a cherished heirloom, a testament to a life filled with joy and adventure.
10
Mrs. Candle asked “do you want to write anymore?” He said, “Yes” with full energy and a big smile on his face. “Can I get some yellow paper now to write the memories I have with my dad?” Andy asked. “Off course you can”, said Mrs. Candle. He then had a pile of yellow little notes next to him written all the happy memories he had with his dad.
11
Andy's treasure box not only held physical objects but also fueled his imagination. He would often take out an item and create stories around it, imagining grand adventures and distant lands. His creativity knew no bounds, and the treasure box was the key. It was a magical source of inspiration, proving that with a little imagination, anything is possible. Andy's stories became more elaborate, and he even started writing them down, adding a new dimension to his collection of treasures.
12
Andy's passion for his treasure box and the stories behind each item became contagious. He started sharing his adventures with classmates, inspiring them to start their own collections. They would share their treasures and the stories behind them, creating a bond over shared experiences and imaginations. Andy became a leader in a community of young explorers, all united by the joy of discovery and the power of storytelling.
13
Years went by, and Andy grew older, but his treasure box remained a constant companion. It was a physical representation of his journey through life, filled with memories of joy, friendship, and adventure. He knew that one day he would pass it on, hoping it would inspire another young explorer as it had inspired him. The treasure box had become a legacy, a symbol of a life well-lived and the importance of cherishing every moment.
14
On Andy's sixteenth birthday, he decided it was time to start a new treasure box. The original box was full, each item a chapter of his childhood. He looked at the two boxes side by side, the old and the new, and felt a sense of accomplishment and anticipation. The new box was empty, waiting to be filled with new adventures and memories. Andy was ready for the next chapter of his life, with his treasure boxes as his companions on the journey.
15
Andy's story with his first treasure box may have come to an end, but his adventures were far from over. He realized that life was an endless series of stories, each waiting to be discovered and cherished. With his new treasure box in hand, he was ready to embark on new journeys, make new friends, and find new treasures. The lessons he learned from his first box - about friendship, imagination, and the joy of discovery - would guide him on his path. Andy knew that every moment was a treasure, and he was eager to see what wonders lay ahead. The end of one chapter was simply the start of another, in the grand story of his life.
