Case of the Missing Cookies

One sunny afternoon, Cassie came home from school, her mind set on the chocolate chip cookies she knew were in the kitchen. But when she looked, the cookie jar was empty! 'Where could they be?' she wondered. Cassie decided she would become a detective and solve the Case of the Missing Cookies.

Cassie started her investigation by asking her family if they had seen the cookies. No one knew where they were. She looked for clues around the house and found a trail of cookie crumbs leading to the living room. There, she saw her teddy bear sitting next to an empty plate. 'Aha!' she thought, 'A clue!'

Cassie realized that it wasn't her teddy bear who ate the cookies. She remembered her dad saying he was going to clean the living room. 'Could it be Dad?' she pondered. When she asked him, her dad laughed and admitted he had eaten the cookies because he was hungry. Cassie learned that sometimes things aren't what they seem.

To make up for the missing cookies, Cassie's dad suggested they bake new cookies together. Cassie was thrilled. They spent the afternoon baking and laughing. In the end, Cassie not only learned the importance of listening to her parents but also enjoyed a wonderful time baking with her dad.
