Chester the Cuddle Expert
Chester and the cuddle rule
Chester was a little boy with bright red hair who loved to give cuddles. He cuddled Mum in the morning and Dad at night. He cuddled his teddy bears, his brothers and even his teachers
1
One sunny Saturday, Chester went to the park with Mum and Dad. The sun was shining and birds were singing in the trees. Chester skipped along the path, excited to play on the swings and slide.
2
As they walked through the park, Chester spotted a lady with white hair sitting on a bench. She was reading a book and smiling to herself. Chester thought she looked very nice and decided she needed a cuddle.
3
Chester ran up to the lady and said, "Hello! I'm Chester and I want to give you a cuddle!" The lady looked surprised and glanced at Mum and Dad. Dad quickly walked over and gently took Chester's hand.
4
"Chester," said Mum, kneeling down beside him, "we need to talk about the cuddle rule." Dad smiled kindly and added, "We always ask before giving someone a cuddle." The lady nodded and gave Chester a friendly wave.
5
"Some people don't like cuddles from people they don't know," explained Dad. Mum added, "And that's okay - everyone gets to choose about their own body." Chester thought about this new information carefully.
6
"Can I ask the lady if she wants a cuddle?" Chester asked politely. "That's much better," said Mum with a proud smile. The lady kindly explained she preferred handshakes with new friends.
7
On the way home, Chester asked, "Can I have a cuddle, Mum?" Mum beamed and opened her arms wide. Chester snuggled in, happy to know that the best cuddles are the ones with the people you love.
