The Exciting Wait
Jesus Taught Me Patience
Lia bounced onto the couch and showed her fingers, excited yet impatient about her baptism. She shouted, 'Only ten more days until my baptism!' Her parents smiled and explained that waiting was a time to grow and learn. Dad began to share stories from the scriptures about how even Jesus had to wait for the perfect time. Lia listened carefully while her little brother played quietly nearby.

That evening, Dad read a story from the scriptures to the family. He explained that Jesus was twelve years old when he learned in the temple and later began his ministry when he was thirty. Lia's eyes grew wide with wonder as she learned how Jesus used his waiting time for learning and prayer. Mom nodded happily, reminding Lia that waiting is a time for preparing our hearts. The family felt the love and guidance of Jesus in every word shared.

The next day, Lia decided to make her waiting time special by helping others. She helped her little brother tie his shoes and carefully assisted him with his toys. Lia asked Grandma to tell her about her baptism day, and Grandma smiled as she shared her kind memories. Each act of kindness filled her heart with joy and the desire to be ready when her special day came around. In her quiet moments, Lia prayed and practiced patience, feeling closer to Jesus with every act.

As the days passed, Lia began to see the beauty in waiting. She counted down the days, each one filled with little lessons from her family and from the story of Jesus. Her parents reminded her that every day was an opportunity to learn and to prepare her heart. At bedtime, Lia would remember that waiting was not empty time but a blessing filled with love and care. With her heart full of patience, Lia felt ready for her baptism even before the special day arrived.
