The First Morning
Luca’s Big Kindy Adventure
Luca held Mum's hand tightly as they walked to Kindy. His tummy felt funny and his heart beat fast. "I'm scared," Luca whispered, looking up at Mum's kind face. Mum knelt down and gave him a warm hug. "It's okay to feel nervous about new things," she said softly.

At recess, Luca stood alone near the wall. Mrs. Kubicek noticed and led him to where Bodhi and Milani were playing. "Can Luca join you?" she asked, and they nodded happily. Bodhi showed Luca his favorite truck while Milani smiled brightly. Soon, they were laughing together as they raced the trucks across the playground.

When Mum left after drop-off, Luca felt tears coming. Mrs. Kubicek showed him the colorful Zones chart on the wall. "You're in the blue zone now, and that's okay," she explained gently. Luca took three deep breaths like Mrs. Kubicek showed him. He pressed his special hug button on his wrist, remembering Mum's love.

Each day at Kindy became a little easier for Luca. He learned to put his things away and join Milani and Bodhi for morning play. When he felt worried, he remembered his special tools to feel better. At home time, Luca ran to Mum with a big smile. "I'm brave now," he told her proudly.
