New Friends with a Big Test
Manny the Mover and Freddy the Flyer
Manny the Mover adjusted his special hat as he walked to the park. His tail swung nervously behind him as he thought about his English exam tomorrow. Under a tall tree, he spotted Freddy the Flyer, a duck with a bright blue hat that said "Flyer" on it. "Hello there," Manny called, waving his long monkey arms. Freddy looked up and smiled, but Manny could see that the duck seemed worried too.

"I'm nervous about the English exam," Freddy admitted, flapping his wings. Manny nodded and said, "Me too, but maybe we can practice together?" They sat on a bench and began to ask each other questions. "What is your name?" asked Manny. "My name is Freddy the Flyer," answered the duck. "Can you spell your name?" Manny continued. "F-R-E-D-D-Y," Freddy spelled carefully. They took turns asking, "Where are you from?" and "How old are you?" Both friends felt their confidence growing with each practice question.

The next day, Manny brought two similar pictures of a playground. "We need to practice comparing pictures for the exam," he explained to Freddy. Freddy looked closely and said, "In the first picture, there are three children on the swings." Manny nodded and added, "But in the second picture, there are only two children on the swings." They found more differences: a missing ball, a taller tree, and a different colored bench. "You're very good at this, Freddy!" Manny clapped, feeling less worried about tomorrow.

The day of the exam arrived, and Manny and Freddy sat nervously outside the classroom. The Exam Teacher, a kind man with glasses, called them in one by one. "What is your name?" he asked Manny with a smile. Manny answered all the questions perfectly, just as they had practiced. When it was Freddy's turn to compare the pictures, he spotted every difference without hesitation. Later that day, the Exam Teacher announced, "Congratulations, Manny the Mover and Freddy the Flyer! You both passed your English exam!" The friends hugged each other, their special hats bumping together as they celebrated their success.
