The Messy Lunch
Ophelia cleans the bathroom
It was a bright and sunny morning in the Jones household. Mrs. Jones was feeding Ophelia her favorite lunch. Ophelia loved to eat. She smacked her lips as she grabbed the cheese stick her mother offered her. But as she reached for her blueberries, her hand accidentally bumped her bowl. Splat! Her applesauce hit the floor, and her bowl rolled across the floor. Her meat stick flew up and landed in the dog's bowl.

Mazylooked at the mess she had made. She felt a little sad seeing her applesauce on the floor. But then, she had a big idea. 'I can clean this up myself!' she thought. She remembered watching her parents clean up. 'I want to help clean the house too,' Ophelia decided. So, she slid off her chair, ready to make things right.

First, Ophelia tried to pick up her bowl. It was a bit slippery, but she managed to get it back on the table. Next, she looked at the applesauce on the floor. 'I need a cloth,' she thought. She toddled over to the kitchen drawer and pulled out a cleaning cloth. With a little effort, she started wiping the floor. 'This is fun!' Ophelia giggled, cleaning up her mess.

Mrs. Jones turned around and saw Ophelia cleaning the floor. She was surprised and delighted. 'What a helpful little girl you are!' she exclaimed. Mrs. Jones knelt down and helped Ophelia finish cleaning the applesauce. Together, they made the floor sparkle again. 'Thank you, Ophelia,' Mrs. Jones said with a smile. 'You're my little helper.'

After the lunch cleanup, Ophelia was filled with enthusiasm. 'I want to clean more!' she declared. Mrs. Jones thought for a moment. 'How about we clean the bathroom together?' she suggested. Ophelia clapped her hands excitedly. They gathered their cleaning supplies and headed to the bathroom. 'This is going to be an adventure,' Mrs. Jones said, and Ophelia nodded in agreement.

In the bathroom, Ophelia and Mrs. Jones started scrubbing the tiles. Ophelia had her own little sponge. 'Scrub, scrub, scrub,' she sang, copying her mom. They made a game out of cleaning, seeing who could make their tiles shine first. Ophelia laughed and splashed a little water. 'Cleaning is fun with you, Mommy,' she said. Mrs. Jones smiled, happy to share this moment with her daughter.

After some time, the bathroom looked amazing. The tiles sparkled, and the mirror was spotless. Ophelia stood back and admired their work. 'We did it, Mommy!' she exclaimed. Mrs. Jones hugged Ophelia. 'We sure did,' she agreed. 'You're an excellent cleaner, Ophelia.' They put away the cleaning supplies, proud of their hard work.

That evening, Mr. Jones came in and noticed how clean the bathroom was. 'Wow, this bathroom is sparkling!' he said. Mrs. Jones told him about their cleaning adventure. 'Ophelia was a big help,' she said. Ophelia beamed with pride. 'I cleaned the bathroom with Mommy!' she announced. Mr. Jones lifted Ophelia high in the air. 'I'm so proud of you,' he said. And Ophelia felt very proud, indeed.
