A Day at the Playground
Singing or Dancing
Sydney and John were playing at the playground. John started singing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'. Sydney was amazed by his beautiful voice. She asked him how he sang so well. John smiled and said she could practice too.
1
Sydney decided she wanted to sing like John. She returned home full of excitement. She started singing all the time. Her voice echoed through the house. Sydney hoped to improve her voice with practice.
2
Sydney sang and sang until she felt very tired. Her voice was getting a little better, but she was exhausted. She lay down in bed, feeling worn out. Her eyes slowly closed as she fell asleep. Singing all day was hard work.
3
Sydney's mom noticed she was tired. She asked Sydney why she looked so worn out. Sydney explained she had been trying to sing like John. She admired his voice so much. Mommy listened carefully to her story.
4
Mommy smiled gently at Sydney. She said Sydney didn’t need to be like John to be amazing. Everyone has their own special talents, she explained. Sydney felt a little better hearing her mom's words. It was okay to be different.
5
Sydney started thinking about her own talents. She remembered how much she loved dancing. Dancing made her feel happy and free. Maybe singing wasn't her only talent. She realized she was special in her own way.
6
Sydney decided to dance again. She twirled around the living room with joy. Her mom watched and clapped along. Sydney felt proud of her dancing. It was her own special way to shine.
7
Sydney learned an important lesson. She didn't have to be like anyone else to be amazing. Her dancing was unique and beautiful. She was happy being herself. And that made her smile the brightest.
