Graduation Day

The first love

Nate was happy to graduate kindergarten. He was now a big boy going into first grade. During the whole kindergarten year, he really liked a girl named Anne Piper. Anne was in his class and he thought she was so cute. But Nate was too scared to talk to her. He worried that once he graduated, they would no longer be in the same classroom. This made him feel a little sad.
1
Anne Piper wore glasses and was very smart. Nate admired her from afar. He loved how she always knew the answers in class. But he was too shy to tell her how he felt. He wished he could be brave enough to talk to her. Nate often imagined what it would be like to be her friend. He hoped first grade would give him a chance.
2
First grade started, and Nate's fears came true. Anne Piper went to another classroom. He no longer could admire her in class. This made Nate feel lonely. He missed seeing her every day. But he looked forward to recess. That was when he could see her on the playground.
3
Nate realized he had a crush on Anne. He was unsure of what to do. He watched her play from a distance. She seemed so happy and full of life. Nate wanted to tell her how he felt. But he didn't know how. It was a big secret he kept inside.
4
One day, Nate came up with an idea. He would write Anne a note. The note would say, 'I love you but I am embarrassed to tell you.' Nate thought this was a good plan. But there was one problem. He hadn't learned how to write correctly yet. So, he decided to ask his mom for help.
5
Nate went home and told his mom about his plan. His mom smiled and agreed to help him. Together, they wrote the note. His mom told him these feelings were normal. She encouraged him to be brave. She even gave him a red envelope for his love note.
6
Nate was excited about the red envelope. It made his note look special. He planned to give Anne the note at the playground. But he was still nervous. He wasn't sure if he could do it. Each day, he carried the note in his pocket. He waited for the right moment.
7
Days went by, and Nate still hadn't given Anne the note. He needed to gather more courage. He practiced what he would say. He imagined Anne's reaction. He hoped she would like the note. Finally, he felt ready. He decided today would be the day.
8
Nate saw Anne playing on the swings. His heart was pounding. He walked up to her slowly. He handed her the red envelope. Then, he ran away as fast as he could. He hid behind a tree and watched. Anne opened the envelope and read the note.
9
Anne smiled as she read the note. She looked around for Nate. She saw him hiding behind the tree. She walked over to him. 'I like you too, Nate,' she said. Nate couldn't believe his ears. He felt so happy and relieved.
10
From that day on, Nate and Anne became good friends. They spent time together during recess. They played games and shared stories. Nate was no longer afraid to talk to her. He was glad he had given her the note. It was the start of a wonderful friendship.
11
Nate learned an important lesson. Sometimes, you have to be brave to show your feelings. He was glad he had taken the chance. Anne and Nate continued to be friends. They enjoyed their time together. And they both looked forward to many more adventures. The end.
