The Untied Shoe
This is how I tie my shoes
Alex was playing in the park when he noticed his shoe was untied. He tried to tie it himself but got confused. He looked around for help and saw his sister, Toni, nearby. He ran over to her, hoping she could help. 'Toni, can you show me how to tie my shoes?' he asked.
1
Toni smiled warmly at her little brother. 'Of course, Alex!' she said. She knelt down beside him and took his shoe in her hands. 'First, we need to make sure the laces are even,' she explained. Alex watched closely, ready to learn.
2
'Now, we make two bunny ears,' Toni continued. She formed loops with the laces and held them up. 'These are the bunny ears,' she said. Alex giggled and nodded. He liked the idea of bunny ears.
3
'Next, the bunnies need to give each other a hug,' Toni said. She crossed the loops and pulled one through the hole. 'See? Just like this.' Alex tried to copy her movements. He was determined to get it right.
4
Alex took his laces and made two bunny ears. He crossed the loops and tried to pull one through. It was a bit messy, but he gave it his best shot. 'Good job, Alex!' Toni encouraged him. 'Let's try again together.'
5
They practiced tying the laces over and over. Each time, Alex got a little better. 'You're doing great,' Toni said with a smile. Alex felt proud of himself. He was getting the hang of it.
6
Finally, Alex tied his shoe perfectly. 'I did it!' he exclaimed. Toni clapped her hands and hugged him. 'I knew you could do it,' she said. Alex beamed with joy.
7
From that day on, Alex tied his own shoes. He felt proud and confident. Whenever he saw someone with untied laces, he offered to help. 'I can show you how to tie your shoes,' he would say. And he always remembered to thank Toni for teaching him.
