Now, this job might sound idyllic—green meadows, fluffy sheep, and all—but it had its moments of monotony. The shepherd boy’s master, however, had given him a stern warning: Beware of the wolves. “If a wolf attacks,” the master said, “run to the village and cry for help.” And so, our shepherd boy went about his days, occasionally yawning as the sheep grazed. But mischief stirred within him. One day, he decided to play a prank. He ran to the village, shouting, “Wolf! Wolf!” The villagers dropped everything and rushed to his aid, only to find him doubled over with laughter. It was all a joke. The boy repeated this trick a few times, and the villagers, though annoyed, forgave him. But then, when a real wolf appeared, fangs bared and hungry eyes fixed on the sheep, the boy cried out again: “Wolf! Wolf!” This time, the villagers hesitated. “He can’t fool us twice!” they said, ignoring his desperate pleas. Tragically, many sheep fell victim to the wolf. Moral of the Story: Be honest in your words and deeds.

Page 1: Miko the Meerkat and Lizzy the lizard live in the hot and dry Kalahari Desert. Page 2: Miko and Lizzy are best friends and do everything together! Page 3: Miko is a bright (lively) and friendly meerkat. ( he loves popping and looking out of burrows to explore the Kalahari ) (Miko likes moving from place to place and can’t stay still!) Page 4: Lizzy is a clever lizard ( she loves to imagine about the stars in the sky so much that she sometimes forgets to listen in class ) whose mind never stopped racing. Page 5: Miko and Lizzy are different from their friends because they both have ADHD! Page 6: Miko struggled to stay still in class. He was always digging burrows and often got distracted during his How to Spot a Predator class. Page 7: Lizzy also struggled in class, she couldn’t focus on her sun safety class (she was easily distracted by the clouds in the sky and often forgot to take down her homework ) because of how fast her thoughts were moving. Page 8: (Miko and Lizzy struggled in class but their ADHD was an advantage!) After visiting Dr Wild, the Wildebeest, Miko and Lizzy learnt to do things that would help them to manage their ADHD. Miko was also top of his insect tracking class and created the first ever pair of insect spy goggles that could see different insect tracks and tells you what type of insect you are looking at! "Lulu isn’t here," she said, confused. They searched behind the house, under a tree, and around the frozen pond. No sign of Lulu. "Where could she be?" asked Didi, shivering. "Do you think she’s gone forever?" "I hope not," Mimi said sadly. "Lulu is our best friend." As they sat under a big tree feeling down, Mimi suddenly remembered. "Wait! Frogs hibernate in winter!" "What does that mean?" asked Didi. "It means Lulu isn’t gone," Mimi explained. "She’s sleeping through the winter to stay safe from the cold." "She’s just sleeping?" Didi’s eyes widened. "Exactly," Mimi said. Cheering up, the friends decided to make something special for Lulu. They built a snowman outside her house and left a note: "We miss you, Lulu! See you in spring!" When spring arrived, Lulu woke up and stretched. She saw the melted snowman and the note. Smiling, she hopped to the pond, where Mimi and Didi were waiting. "Lulu!" they cheered, running to her. "I’m so happy to see you!" Lulu said. "We missed you so much," said Didi. The three friends hugged, laughing. We have to go!" Luwam: (nervous) "The woods are scary at night!" Sewit: "Don’t worry. We’ll stay together." ________________________________________ The sisters held the lantern tightly as they entered the dark forest. The trees swayed, and strange sounds filled the air. Suddenly, Luwam pointed. "Look! Over there!" Under a big tree, Kudus sat holding a shiny rock that glowed faintly. ________________________________________ Sewit: (relieved) "Kudus! Why did you run off?" Kudus: (innocently) "I saw this glowing rock and wanted to follow it." Luwam: "You scared us! Don’t run away like that again." Kudus: (looking down) "I didn’t think you’d miss me." Sewit: (hugging him) "Of course we’d miss you. We love you, Kudus. We’re stronger when we stick together." ________________________________________ The three of them held hands and walked home, the lantern lighting their way.
