Now he wandered back and forth along the ledge, luring curious onlookers with his haunting, majestic form. People came from towns far and wide, enchanted by rumors of the ghostly elk who waited on the cliff’s edge. They’d drive up the road, and stare, mouths agape, hypnotized by the strange and beautiful creature. But as they stared, he would give a tilt of his head, like he was inviting them closer… just a little closer… And without realizing, they'd creep forward, caught in his gaze as if bewitched. The road sloped down, gravity pulling them toward that dizzying edge as if guided by an invisible hand. Mesmerized by the elk, they'd drift until there was nothing left beneath them but empty air. Some say that as they fell, they’d hear a low, mournful bellow echoing through the chasm, as if the elk was bidding them farewell. They never saw the bottom of Elk’s End. And if you go out there on a cold, clear night, you might just see the elk yourself—his great, spectral form glowing softly, waiting to lead one more soul down into the misty abyss.

I feel better now.” Scene 6 As the sun set, they sat on a rock, watching the stars. “This was the best day,” Finn said. “Thank you, Sophie. You made me so much happier.” Sophie smiled. “That’s what friends are for. I’m always here for you.” Scene 7 From then on, Sophie and Finn spent every day together in the forest, exploring, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. Her town had only one science college for girls, and unfortunately, mathematics wasn’t offered there. Undeterred, she persuaded the school to approve math as a subject, and it was heartening to see a few of her friends choose the same path. When everything seemed to be going well, and she was at a crucial point in choosing my career, she faced medical emergencies and underwent multiple surgeries. It took nearly two years to return to normal life, which unfortunately meant she couldn’t attend the engineering college she had hoped for. Disappointment weighed heavily, but she heeded her father’s advice. She pursued her graduation in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and secured the second-highest rank in college. Later, she completed her master’s and married, relocating to Pune. There, she joined L&T Infotech.
