Lex was watching me teach Jens to climb the rope net. I wasn’t holding him but guiding his next step. Lex says “why do you always let go of people when they are doing hard things on the playground when they need help?” (Him referencing Jens struggling on the net calling for my help). I said “it’s so that you learn to do hard things without me”. Lex says, “Oh, I don’t want to do hard things.” 😆 Later, Jens get on the ropes again and calls for help. I encourage him that he can do it while watching from afar. And then he does it! All by himself! At the top Jens yells “I did it!” Jumps up and down and Lex says “Oh that’s why you let us do hard things.” 🥲" I could go on and on about how amazing Ava is as a nanny and what a blessing she is to raising my little men, and she is SUCH a huge blessing and incredible woman, but instead I can't help but see the parallel of that story and the role God has in our lives. I can't tell you how often I wish my lifelong trial would be over and how often I literally ask God why he is making me go through all this pain even I KNOW he could take it away... Then I remember the little and big wins along the way and the things I have learned and gained because of pain I am constantly in. God absolutely tells me where to step, but I haven't ever experienced the feeling of him completely lifting me to the top of the playground. I feel him watching me and cheering me along. Then I do something impossible and I jump up and down with joy saying "I did it!" and I know he's so proud of me. And just like little Lex I think to myself, "Oh that’s why you let us do hard things." Let's not forget to let God guide us. Thank God for the miracles we experience every day

A 5 year old boy and his 2 year old younger sister are walking hand in hand through the magical forest while being watched over by an angel baby from above the clouds who is their guardian angel. The forest is vibrantly colored yet realistic. The forest is filled with fairies, fireflies, mushrooms, big oaks, wildflowers, butterflies, dragonflies, bumblebees, etc. The children are walking along a glittery yellow brick road throughout the story. The story starts with them sitting under a huge oak tree reading a book together then the journey of them hand in hand through the forest along the glitter road. The next page is big brother pushing little sister on a swing that is hanging from the oak tree while the baby angel watches them from above the clouds at sunset with pretty colors of sunlight beaming in between the trees. Next scene is the Baby Angel peeks/ peers over the cloud to act like they are kind of hiding while children start walking down the path, hand in hand. It’s still sunset but a little darker. Next scene children are still walking along path hand in hand but have different scenery/ background now like they have made way down the path. One of the children is bending down to pick up a coin found in the path while both children have expressions of excitement for what they found and the angel baby appears to be watching with anticipation. Place a cardinal, a feather and blue butterfly, a dragonfly, things that people associate with messages from heaven, in the photo somewhere. It is now dusk and almost completely dark. Next scene. I was born in the historic village of Lung Yeuk Tau. The vast mountain ridges resemble a majestic dragon leisurely strolling, quietly overlooking us, the young people who grew up here. From a young age, I was captivated by the unique buildings in the village. The Song Ling Tang Gong Hall stands solemnly, with various exquisite wood carvings and murals showcasing the long history and profound culture of the Tang family. The thick walls of the old village bear witness to our ancestors’ commitment to and protection of this tranquil home. The continuous incense in the temple evokes a strong sense of local customs. I was fortunate to grow up in buildings like the Shik Lu and Chong Him Hall, which blend traditional Chinese features with Western architectural elements. The winding stairs and airy terraces all highlight the unique charm of this cultural fusion. Even in today's age of towering buildings, Lung Yeuk Tau retains its rustic village charm. Villages like Wing Ning and New Walled Village still preserve their circular wall layouts, and one can occasionally catch a glimpse of ancient wells in the alleys, making it feel as if we've traveled back to ancient times. During major festivals, we ring the heavy bronze bell in front of the familiar Tin Hau Temple, hoping for the Goddess of Heaven's blessings. The historic sound of the bell seems to tell the stories of this land. Perhaps it is these historical buildings that nurture the cultural foundation of us, the children of Lung Yeuk Tau. We have personally experienced the unique humanistic atmosphere here since childhood; it has deeply imprinted itself in our hearts, becoming an indispensable part of us. Lung Yeuk Tau, nestled beneath these beautiful mountains, carries a long history and accumulates rich culture. We, the young people who grew up here, will continue to defend this peaceful homeland, ensuring its brilliance shines forever.
