A boy born on 27th February, a Sunday in 1994. It was still winter. He brought the Spring back into his families lives early that year. He was first given a nickname, Chunky, by his aunt Chutki. His father named him Soham Krishna on the day of his Annaprashan. He quickly grew close, and quite protective, to his cousins, a trait he carries to this day. He was the beloved of his grandparents and loved spending time with them, especially his shondada. No sooner was he a Kindergartener, he was also learning to draw and swim. 8 years felt like a blink as his mother and I set him off on his learning journey. Always quick to make friends, he had met twin boys at The Frank Anthony Public School. Taking a liking to basketball and rugby, he featured regularly in school games. Passing out from Delhi Public School, Newtown in 2012 he gained admission into the MVJ College of Engineering. It was the first time he was going to live away from home. He joined TCS, Chennai in December 2016.

Near the edge of a city, on South Lafayette Street, sits a quaint little cottage and three apple trees. The woman who'd owned it had gotten too old, to care for the flowers and bushes she'd planted, and the apples that grew were too much to handle. She needed someone who would pull all of the weeds, pick the ripe apples, and tidy the yard; well, what was the problem? That didn't sound hard! There was just one other thing the old woman needed: someone who would treat the creaky, quaint cottage the way it truly deserved to be treated! For not many knew this, And still, few know today, This little old cottage is a whimsical place! Past the painted-shut windows, the cobwebs and rust, the old woman had hidden magic pixie dust!

Fran and Jim go to the beach. Fran’s parents and Jim’s parents are there. Fran, Jim and both of their parents are from the Turks and Caicos Islands. Come with me.” Jim then runs towards his parents and shouts to his mother, “mommy, can you please give me the arm floats?”. Jim’s mother took out the arm floats from her beach bag, and gave them to Jim. Jim gave one to Fran and said “here, blow that float up and I will blow this one up”. Fran and Jim each blew up one arm float. Then Jim said “Now slide these up your arms. I will help you. They will help you to float in the water.” After the floats were on her little upper arms, she held out her arms and started to walk towards the water with Jim. Jim went into the water up to his knees first. Jim then turned and reached out his hand to Fran and said “come in the water with me”. Fran held his hand and walked into the water with him. As Fran went further into the water, she then exclaimed to Jim “I can’t feel the bottom with my feet anymore!”. Jim then laughed and said, “that’s because you are floating”. Then Fran realized that the arm floats were helping her to float. She then laughed and shouted to her parents saying “Mommy, Daddy, I am floating!”. Her parents waved to her smiling and Jim’s parents were also smiling. Fran and Jim then had fun laughing and playing in the water together, while both of their parents looked on, smiling. Fran and Jim had the best beach day ever.

The cottage was covered with thousands of beautiful flowers. Hidden behind the flowers was a small gold door. They open the door and are greeted with a loud bark. Inside the secret cottage is a white fluffy poodle. “Did you bring me my strudel?” The poodle is Sir Henry, the famous one eyed dog. E is for Eagle. “I’m so sorry.” Buzzes the bee, but the Eagle took your Strudel.” He says to the poodle. “The Eagle took my strudel!” The poodle barks wildly. The bee waves his wings in the air to silence the poodle. “But don’t stress your noodle. You grouchy one eyed poodle. Because I have a plan. I brought you this girl.” “Step forward girl. Rusty had a newspaper route and every day when he wojuld ride by Tuffy's house, Tuffy would follow him. He followed him on his route everyday and even walked him to and from school. Tuffy even went trick or Treating with Rusty. They became fast friends. As it turned out, Rusty's parents bought a house across town and they were moving soon. Rusty begged hjis parents to call tuffy;s owners and ask them if we could just keep him. Tuffy had a horrible growth growing out of his eye. Tuffy's owners said yes, Rusty could keep him and when they moved, they took Tuffy with them. Tuffy was just as happy as Rusty. It was a great friendship!
