When Salt said Saffron's curry looked and smelled funny, Saffron got upset. But second-grade helpers Basil and Rosemary reminded everyone, “Don’t yuck someone’s yum.” Salt said sorry, and Saffron was happy. **The Lost Firefly** One warm evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and the sky turned pink, Mimi the cat, Lulu the frog, and Didi the duck relaxed by their favorite pond. They loved this time of day, perfect for catching fireflies. “Let’s see who catches the most!” Didi quacked excitedly. The friends raced around, laughing as they tried to catch the glowing fireflies in the tall grass. But as the night deepened, Mimi noticed a firefly glowing brighter than the others, hovering alone near an old oak tree. “It looks lost,” Lulu said, her eyes wide. “We have to help it!” Didi declared. Determined, the friends followed the little firefly through the forest. It led them over meadows, past creeks, and into the tall trees. The journey was challenging, but they pressed on, eager to reunite the firefly with its family. Finally, they reached a glowing bush filled with other fireflies. The lost firefly zipped into the group, its glow brightening as it reunited with its family. “We did it!” Lulu cheered. The friends sat under the twinkling lights, realizing the best part of their night wasn’t catching fireflies but helping the little one find its way home. From then on, they promised to always help those in need, knowing even small acts of kindness could light up the world.

I was born in this historically and culturally rich hometown of Lung Yeuk Tau, but I grew up abroad. Every time I return here, it feels like stepping into a world where time has reversed. Every brick and tile here tells a story of the past. The old walled village, situated on the mountainside, stands with its majestic blue brick walls, seemingly narrating tales of repelling pirates. The steps in front of the village gate are cleverly designed as a defensive position, making it difficult for enemies to attack. The small holes and high platforms on the walls were used to monitor outside movements, ensuring the villagers' safety. Such intelligent architectural designs leave me in awe of my ancestors' wisdom. Passing through the ancient gate, I see orderly houses with winding paths paved with blue stones. Not far away, the grand ancestral hall—Song Ling Tang Gong Hall—showcases our family's long history. The exquisite wood carvings and murals inside the hall reflect our family’s glory and traditions. Beside the ancestral hall stands the Tin Hau Temple, with its red walls and yellow tiles radiating a sacred atmosphere. The ancient bronze bell inside tells of countless pious wishes, as if feeling the divine protection. The surrounding statues of the Earth God and the Goddess of Heaven further immerse me in the rich local beliefs. When I step into other walled villages like Dong Ge and Wing Ning, I can still sense the vigor of their long history. Although many walls are now damaged, I can still imagine the tense scenes of repelling pirates. The altars and other structures make me feel the sincere hopes of my ancestors for wealth and success. As I stroll through this culturally rich land, I can almost feel the footsteps of my ancestors and the vitality of this home. No matter where I go, my roots will always be here—in Lung Yeuk Tau.

Nicholas is the son of parents who live to serve others. He grows up in 3rd century Greece developing a love for the ocean and fishing. During a trip to deliver food to a needy family, his parents die when their horse and carriage wrecks in bad weather. Once Nicholas becomes 19, God directs him to become a monk. He packs his bags and heads off on a boat to another town. On the boat trip, the weather becomes bad and a crewman falls overboard. Nickolas miraculously rescues him from drowning, earning him the name SAINT NICKOLAS from the other shipmates. He joins the monastery but soon is called back to his hometown of Myra. Once home, he discovers his parents have left him a very large inheritance and he chooses to give all the money to other in need. He secretly puts food and money in peoples homes in need. And in every present he leaves a note signed "Dinei O Theos" meaning "its better to give to others than to receive"
