Karsen's Sunday Adventures It’s Sunday morning! Karsen wakes up early, rubs his sleepy eyes, and kneels beside his bed to pray. After praying, Karsen quickly fixes his bed. He folds his blanket neatly and fluffs his pillow. Karsen goes to church with his grandma and older sister. They walk hand in hand, ready to start the day with worship. After church, they visit the park. Karsen enjoys the fresh air and plays while they have a little picnic. When they get home, Karsen helps clean the house with his sister. They sweep, dust, and put everything in its place. Karsen also helps his grandma in the garden. Together, they water the plants and pull out weeds. In the afternoon, Karsen joins his sister and friends to clean their neighborhood. They pick up trash and sweep the streets. At night, Karsen enjoys watching TV with his family while having a light dinner. Before bedtime, he kneels once more to pray and thank God for a wonderful day.

Dino and Bird played at the playground, swinging high and sliding fast. “Whee!” said Dino, “Let’s have fun!” Bird chirped, “Yes, let’s go!” But oh no! Dino fell down, thump! He looked so sad. Bird laughed, “Ha ha! Dino fell!” Dino felt hurt and didn’t want Bird anymore. Dino went home crying, “Bird isn’t nice! I don’t want him as a friend!” He missed playing, but felt so mad inside. The next day, Dino saw Bird. Bird said, “I’m sorry, Dino! Please be my friend again!” Dino smiled and said, “Okay!” They played happily together!

1. John Jr and Jade read the Bible verse ""Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." Foun in 1 Corinthians 16:13. They pondered the meaning of Courage. They thought about how courageous Jesus was to completely surrender His life to God. As a result, He made a way for all humanity to be saved from sin by being crucified. John Jr told Jade that Jesus went about with boldness and confidence. John Jr and Jade wanted to be more courageous like Jesus. 2..Jesus taught people not to fear but to be courageous because God is always with them.John Jr and Jade felt comfort in Jesus' teachings and decided to make a list on how to be more courageous. They felt it was courageous to try new things, talk to people they don't know, speaking up, falling down and still keep going, facing difficulties/challenges even when hard. doing things on their own, and being able to face discomfort or pain. John Jr and Jade decided to put those courageous ways into practice 4. Jesus praised John Jr and Jade for being so courageous and told them how pleased God was them.

Amelia is a 6-month old baby girl with the brightest blue eyes that loves spending time at the beach with her mommy, daddy and her Mimi and Papa. We look forward to playing in the ocean, building sand castles, and collecting shells. If we see dolphins, it is a plus.

The children want to start collecting plastic bottle tops to recycle with Lids4Kids. They meet a nice volunteer who will drive their lids to Canberra for them. Then they send a letter home to their families and ask them to collect plastic bottle tops from milk bottles, pop bottles and water bottles. The children enjoy washing the lids in warm soapy water with their family (and pet dog). Next week all the children bring in a bag of lids each. Together they group the lids into colour groups. The nice volunteer pick them up and takes them to Lids4Kids in Canberra. The lids are then turned into a rainbow colored park bench. The teacher surprises the children by buying the rainbow park bench for their playground.

Se goes from place to place, first getting an introduction to what a feeling is and then learning about happiness, sadness, anger, fear, sorrow, jealosy,, anxiety, shame and disgust. In the last place she sees all the different colours and learns about how to handle feelings. In each place there is an animal or a tree/flower that talks to Anna. Page 1 Xiaoming and Xiaohua joined a special tour. Their destination was Lung Yeuk Tau, a place full of history and beautiful scenery. Page 2 They got on the bus, excitedly looking at the view outside. The tour guide told them that there is a mountain shaped like a dragon jumping! Page 3 When they arrived at Lung Yeuk Tau, Xiaoming and Xiaohua first visited the old village called Lo Wai. The tall walls and narrow gate made them feel curious. Page 4 The guide told them stories about Lo Wai. In the past, villagers built these defenses to protect against pirates, making them feel very safe. Page 5 Next, they went to the Tin Hau Temple. Inside the temple were beautiful statues, and there were two ancient bronze bells used for praying for safety. Page 6 Xiaohua was especially interested in the stories about the Tin Hau Temple. She learned that villagers would take the statues out to parade during Tin Hau's birthday. Page 7 Finally, they visited the Songling Tang Kung Ancestral Hall. Xiaoming was amazed by the architecture and heard the touching story of Tang Songling. Page 8 At the end of the trip, Xiaoming and Xiaohua felt that this journey was very special. They hoped to come back to Lung Yeuk Tau one day to explore more stories!

One day there was this kid named Xayden. Xayden went to the park one day and wanted to shoot some basketball. There was one issue though, he wasn’t very good at basketball. In fact Xayden wasn’t good at all. Some other guys saw him missing and started laughing at him. They made fun of him and started calling him names. When they left, a kid named Blaise went over to Xayden and asked him if he wanted help to get better at basketball. Xayden was lit up with joy and immediately said yes! Xayden did some drills with Blaise and started making his shots. After working with Blaise almost every shot seemed to go Xaydens way. The next day, the same guys that were making fun of Xayden came back to the park. Xayden wanted to show them how good he was, so he asked them if they wanted to play a game. Xayden was obliterating them , doing behind the back, in between the legs, shooting threes, layups, and making all of them! Xayden and Blaise ended up winning and one of the guys even ran away. The other guy couldn’t except defeat and said “ Well…well… I’m still better than you!”. Xayden became a great basketball player.
