Turns out, he accidentally dialed the police, fearing my wrath more than the authorities. The phone blared again – it was Grandpa, worried about the police and firefighters outside our house! Apparently, our identically numbered neighbor had the "fire." Chaos ensued as Dad received a call about the false alarm. Terrified, we hid until the police arrived.
