Sally Snail must overcome an obstacle after moving in to her first home. She wants independence. Sally can’t get the mail at her new house because the mailbox is too tall. She asks for help from her 3 friends: Bailey Bear, Damien Dog, Timothy Turtle. Ben the Bear is a friend of Sally’s, but has been disabled his whole life. He tries to find a way to help his friend reach the mailbox. His wheelchair is to big to help lift her up to the mailbox. Damien Dog has been blind for all his life. He is a close friend of Sally's . He has great ideas, but feels unhelpful because he is blind. He is the strongest one of the friends. Timmy the Turtle has Autism. He acts very strange and knows it. He is the smartest of the friends. He can come up with a plan to get Sally to her mail, but he does not have the strength to lift heavy objects. He has been teased all his life, but feels comfortable with his friends. He comes up with a plan to build a ramp so Sally can get her mail.

My own life

In the small town of Focusville, there was a superhero like no other: Focus Kid! With a bright red cape and a mind as sharp as a razor, Focus Kid had the unique ability to focus on anything for as long as he wanted. Whether it was solving a tough puzzle or reading a book, nothing distracted him. But Focus Kid wasn’t born with this superpower. He had learned how to focus over time and worked hard every day to build it up. Today, he was ready to share his secret with the kids of Focusville.

The children want to start collecting plastic bottle tops to recycle with Lids4Kids. They meet a nice volunteer who will drive their lids to Canberra for them. Then they send a letter home to their families and ask them to collect plastic bottle tops from milk bottles, pop bottles and water bottles. The children enjoy washing the lids in warm soapy water with their family (and pet dog). Next week all the children bring in a bag of lids each. Together they group the lids into colour groups. The nice volunteer pick them up and takes them to Lids4Kids in Canberra. The lids are then turned into a rainbow colored park bench. The teacher surprises the children by buying the rainbow park bench for their playground.
